Thank you all for your generosity on our first day of our “Change for Change” donation drive to fight childhood cancer! We filled the big container in the office with pennies, and are also grateful for the many “Baby Shower” items for Matrix! What a great help to so many people in need. (We will continue to accept donations all week.)
Tomorrow, Tuesday (2/2), we will be celebrating our students with a fun “Spirit Day” and “Silly Sock Day”. We will be bringing in nickels for our “Change for Change” drive, and in building on our sock theme, we are collecting socks for the Women’s Shelter. Please know that we do not expect you to do all parts of our service to the community, but these are opportunities for you to be as involved as you would like.
We have not heard yet if we hit a “Home Run” with our Box Tops contest, but we definitely have earned a Pajama/Stuffed Animal day. We will wait until Catholic Schools Week is finished before we plan that special day. We will make sure everyone gets the word when the date is set. Thank you all for your help in collecting Box Tops for our school.
We will send out a reminder tomorrow, but this is a “heads-up” that we will be meeting at Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School on Wednesday morning (2/3). All students are asked to bring canned food to donate to the Food Pantry.
Mrs. Delaney will be outside to greet the students at the front door between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. so they see a familiar face, and the teachers will be waiting for their students in the cafeteria. We will take the bus back to school in time for lunch. Official uniforms are worn for this special day spent together as a school system. You are welcome to join us for Mass at 9:00 in the gym. We will also be collecting dimes that day for our “Change for Change” drive when we get back to St. Mary.
Thank you for helping us to celebrate Catholic Schools Week!
