During this season of celebration, it is important to teach our children to always look for ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need. We have three wonderful opportunities to help those in need both here in our own community, and around the world in Haiti!
The first opportunity is our canned food drive on Tuesday, 11/21. Students will bring their donations of canned food up to the altar during Offertory at our all school Mass as they offer help to those in need. Many thanks to all who have already sent in food!
Jeff and Sharon Newell met with our students today to show them the impact that their donations can make for the children in our sister parish in Haiti. Students are asked to bring in hair accessories and Matchbox cars. These can be gently used and can be something children share from what they already have. Packages of new children’s underwear are also in need if you are able to help provide this. We will collect these items from November 27th through December 8th. Jeff and Sharon bring our gifts to the children in Haiti and pass them our as part of their Christmas celebration. Our students love seeing pictures of the children’s excitement at receiving these small tokens of our love and care for them.
Finally, we will be collecting socks and underwear for Jubilee Christmas through December 8th. These will be gifts for children in our own community. Thank you in advance for remembering these needs as you begin your holiday shopping!
