Pajama Day was such a fun celebration of meeting our Box Tops goal! There were lots of giggles as the teachers and students wore their P.J.s to school. Many thanks to Mrs. Kim Switzer for all of her work to make this a fun and exciting contest, and thanks to all of you for collecting the Box Tops. Please continue to do so for our upcoming spring contest.
Mrs. Kim Switzer is unable to continue with this VERY important program, but will be here to help train her replacement and explain all of the ropes to a kind soul who is willing to volunteer to take over in time for the spring contest. This is a wonderful way to help from home. The funds we earn by collecting Box Tops have helped to provide seat sacks, gym mats, and even needed furniture for the classrooms among other things. Please help us continue this valuable program!
We will have our all school Mass on Friday, February 26th, at 8:15. Mrs. Gothard’s R10 third graders are in charge of preparing and leading us in our celebration. Mrs. Bordenet’s R9 second graders are in charge of preparing and leading the Stations of the Cross at 2:30 on Friday afternoon. You are always welcome to join us!
Please remember that all students are to wear their official uniform with the white shirt on Mass days. It is also important to be sure girls are wearing solid colored leggings (navy, black, white), and all students must wear solid colored shoes every day as part of our uniform policy. You may refer to the Uniform Code on our website, or by clicking on the following link: Uniform Code15-16 Thank you for your help!
Our third-grade students will be taking the ISTEP+ assessment (Part 1) in early March to assess how well we are teaching the Indiana standards to our students. Please be sure to read the parent letter for words of advice. It is important not to place too much emphasis on one test alone, but at the same time we want all students to do their best. Parents can help prepare their children by following some of the suggestions in the letter. Although we are testing the third grade, the advice is good for all children! ISTEP Parent Letter 2016
Please be sure to complete the Safe & Sacred Protocol online so that you are able to help out at school! This is very important for any and all adult volunteers to complete. http://dol-in.org/online-safe-environment-training Thank you!
