As we learn to know, love, and serve God, we look for ways to teach our children that we can be the face and hands of Jesus as we help others and spread kindness and cheer. We try not to overburden our families, so we hope that you might have some of the needed items at home. It can be a good lesson to our children that we share what we have with those in need. Our first opportunity is to help with the Caregiver Retreat. Please see the information below:
On November 17 Caregiver Companion, in conjunction with the Diocese of Lafayette, is sponsoring a retreat for caregivers. Oftentimes people who are caring for their ill or elderly loved ones do not take the necessary time to attend to themselves, as their needs may seem insignificant to the needs of those for whom they care. That being said we know how important it is to take care of ourselves, especially during stressful times, as we cannot give what we ourselves don’t have. This is why we are offering a retreat for caregivers. As part of this retreat we’d like to give each caregiver a gift bag with items such as gift cards, herbal teas, scented candles, lotions, sanitizers, cozy socks, crossword/puzzle books, etc. Would you be able to help us bring some comfort and joy to these people by contributing any of these items? Items can be placed in the marked box by the school office anytime before Thursday, November 15. Thank you so much for your generosity!
